First venue on the site opened 1852 as Berliner Circus-Theater. Closed 1855. Later re-opened as concert hall and ballroom. 1904 renamed Nationaltheater am Weinsbergsweg and used as an opera house. 1906 renamed Walhalla-Theater and used as a variety theatre. 1914-1919 operated by Bernhard Rose. 1927 the theatre's Tunnel restaurant was converted into a comedy club theatre named Carow's Lachbühne (over 1200 seats). Destroyed in World War II. (English)
