Built 1955-1956 by K. Souradny, R. Brummer, and F. Herbst, incorporating the remains of the Central-Theater (built 1901, severeley damaged in World War II, re-opened 1945 after provisional repairs). Opened 1957 with Schiller's Wallenstein trilogy. 2003-2006 exterior renovations. 2008-2013 again named Centraltheater. Used for drama performances by the resident company. 672 seats. (English)
