1930s
In the 1930s, the theatre was to be rebuilt, adding a "proletarian style" to its architecture. However, it ended up simply removing the aforementioned busts of composers from the times of the empire, and building an additional two-storey rehearsal room. (English)

1980s
1980s, under the direction of architect Boris Zhezherin, the theatre was reconstructed, during which the internal structure of the rooms changed. Grimerooms and rehearsal rooms became bigger, and a choral class appeared. The stage was also enlarged. Its area after the reconstruction is 824 square metres. The orchestra pit was re-equipped, which now accommodates about 100 musicians, and the old organ was replaced with a new one. The latter was made to the special order of the theatre by the company "Ridger-Klos" from the Czech Republic. Overall, the reconstruction significantly expanded the theatre's space. (English)
