Built 1887 as a café-concert, replacing the Bal de la Boule noire (built 1822). 1894 extension by Henri Grandpierre. Rebuilding (with a new façade) in the 1900s(?). Closed 1927 and re-opened as music hall La Fourmi. In the 1940s, converted into a cinema. 1987 re-opened as a music venue. (English)
