Palace of culture, built 1925-1927 by A. I. Gegello and A. I. Dmitriev. Opened 7 Nov 1927 as Dom Kultury Moskvsko-Narskovo Rayona (House of Culture of the Moscow-Narva District). Later renamed Dvorets Kultury im. Maxima Gorkovo in honour of the Russian writer, Maxim Gorky (1868-1936). Later renamed Dvorets Iskusstv (Palace of Arts). (English)
