Built 1928 by Bertie Crewe and Edward A. Stone as a private thatre for Edward Laurillard. Interior decoration by Marc-Henri Levy and Gaston Laverdet. Opened 27 Apr 1928 with Jerome Kern's musical Blue Eyes. Originally used for drama and muscial performances. 1955 alterations of the interior decoration. 1968 interior alterations, installation of a modular stage. Used for musical performances. Operated by the Ambassador Theatre Group. Originally 1400 seats, today 1232 seats. (English)
