Built 1854 by Telemaco Bonaiuti. Opened as Teatro Pagliano, named after the impresario, Girolamo Pagliano (1801-1881). 1901 renamed in honour of the Italian opera composer, Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901). Also known as Regio Teatro Verdi (Royal Verdi Theatre). 1538 seats. Used for musical and drama performances and concerts. (English)
