Musical theatre, built 1972-1979 by Józef Chmiel and Daniel Oledzki as a new home to the Teatr Muzyczny, Gdansk (which until then performed at the Morski Dom Kultury, Gdansk). Officially opened 21 July 1979. First premiere on 8 Dec 1979 with Jan Stefani's vaudeville Krakowiacy i Górale. 1992 named in honour of the theatre director Danuta Baduszkowa (1919-1978). 2010-2013 rebuildings (including an extension of the main hall from 696 to 1070 seats, and addition of a studio theatre with 300 seats).
