Opened 1908 as Eispalast, an ice rink and entertainment venue, also used as a cinema (Eispalast-Kino). Re-opened Sep 1920 as a variety theatre named Scala. Ca. 3000 seats. The complex also contained the Casanova ballrooms. Severely damaged by bombs on 23/23 Nov 1943. From 1960 parts of the remaining building were a provisional home to the Wühlmäuse cabaret company. In the 1960s parts also used as Wiener-Rutsch'n, an Austrian-style restaurant with live entertainment. Demolished in the 1970s. (English)
