Built 1905-1913 by Franz Schwechten as a royal residential palace (Königliches Residenzschloss) for the Prussian King and German Emperor, Wilhelm II. After 1945 used by the university and the city adiministration, from the 1960s used as a palace of culture (Pałac Kultury). Currently used for various commercial and cultural purposes. (English)
