Royal Exchange built 1874 by Mills & Murgatroyd as Cotton Exchange, extended in 1922. 1976 installation of a 740-seat theatre module within the exchange hall by Levitt Bernstein Associates (with Richard Negri). 1996 structural damages of the exchange building (not the theatre module) by a terrorist bomb attack. Subsequently renovations and rebuildings (with installation of a studio theatre with 120 seats). (English)
