    Built 1982-1998 by Marco Zanuso as a new home to the Piccolo Teatro di Milano - Teatro d'Europa (the former home still being used as a second stage, named Teatro Grassi). Named after the Italian theatre diretctor, Giorgio Strehler (1921-1997), co-founder of the Piccolo Teatro di Milano company. Opened 26 January 1998 with Mozart's opera Cosí fan tutte. 968 seats.
