E’ un bel teatro neoclassico, eretto nel triennio 1806-08 dal­l’architetto Luigi Canonica sul­l’area di altro teatro distrutto da un incendio e risalente al 1749. E’ oggi utilizzato per stagioni liriche, concerti, spettacoli di prosa e rivista. (Italian)
Built 1807 as Teatro Concordia by Luigi Canonica. Destroyed by a fire on 6 Jan 1824. Subsequently rebuilt by Faustino Rodi and Luigi Voghera, following Luigi Canonica's 1807 designs. In the late 19th century, commonly known as Teatro Concordia-Ponchielli in honour of the Italian composer and theatre director, Amilcare Ponchielli (1834-1886). Officially renamed Teatro Amilcare Ponchielli on 12 Mar 1907. (English)
