t is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Ernst Ebrecht, co-founder of MA Lighting Technology GmbH and a longtime colleague, partner and friend. Ernst passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 73, after a serious illness. For more than four decades, Ernst played a defining role in shaping both the technical success and the culture of our company. Much of what MA Lighting stands for today is inseparably connected to his vision, expertise, and determination.Ernst joined the company in 1985 and quickly assumed responsibility for software development. Under his leadership, the software for MA Lighting’s first internationally successful lighting control systems was created, including the Lightcommander, the LCD series, and later the Scancommander. These pioneering products laid the foundation for the acclaimed grandMA series that followed. (English)
