Built 1932 by Edward Durrell Stone for John D. Rockefeller Jr. and the Radio Corporation of America (RCA). Interior design by Donald Deskey. Opened 27 Dec 1932. Directed by S. L. Roxy Rothafel. 1999 major restoration by Hardy-Holzman Pfeiffer Associates. Originally used for movie-and-stage shows (with over 700 movie premieres). Currently used for popular concerts, movie premieres, and various other events. Home to the precision dance team, Radio City Rockettes. Since 1933, used for annaul christmas shows in November and December, featuring the Rockettes. 5900 seats. (English)
