Built 1912-1914. Opened 21 Dec 1914 with Paul Lindau's comedy Lorica noastra (Die beiden Leonoren). Destroyed by bombs on 8 Apr 1944. 1956-1958 rebuilding. Named in honour of the Romanian writer, Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889). 2014 facade rebuilding to the original designs. (English)
