Era un vecchio teatro storico, eretto su disegno dell’architetto A- chille Sfondrini fra il 1894 e il 1898. Completato e modificato in seguito dall’architetto Carmelo Pergolesi, fino ad alcuni anni or sono era stato utilizzato come cinematografo. Successivamente è stato abbattuto; (Italian)

Built 1892-1901 by Achille Sfondrini, Corrado Pergolesi, Antonio Rubini, Luigi D'Ippolito and Lorenzo Calabrese. Named in honour of the Italian opera composer, Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901). Opened 24 Mar 1901 with a gala concert. First opera performance: Verdi's La Traviata on 17 Oct 1903. Damaged by bombs in World War II. 1949-1951 repair works. Subsequently used as a cinema. Closed 23 Aug 1956. Demolished in 1960. (English)
