Built as Stadttheater for the city of Meran by Martin Dülfer. Opened 1 December 1900 with Beethoven's ouverture Die Weihe des Hauses and Goethe's Faust I (music by Eduard Lassen). 650 seats. Later renamed Teatro Puccini / Stadttheater Meran 'Giacomo Puccini' in honour of the Italian composer, Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924). (English)
