Introduction
A business is a organisation undertaking commercial, industrial, or professional activity.
We organise businesses in subclasses depending on their activity. Each subclass can have specific properties to descrive their activity.
Header
Label*
The name of the business in it's original language.

We do not translate this, except if the business itself uses different names in different countries. Do not confuse this with different business entities in different countries that should be describes as different items.

Use the most frequent name as label, note alternative names or abreviations in the also known as field.
Description
You can give a short (max 30 words) description of the business

FIXME: add syntax? Country + type of business + optional explanation. for example: Dutch manufacturer of electrical equipment

This will (not always) be translated.

This is used to define in what field the business was active and makes it possible to find all businesses in a specific field of interest.

Multiple entries are possible, but avoid to use to many fields.

Historical name (P274)
It is not uncommon for businesses to change name over time. Previous names can be entered here.
Ideally the historical names are also entered as 'also known as' in the header.

Add start time (P38) and end time (P39 as qualifiers if apropriate.

Exact information about the historical name can be added with a qualifier context (P47).
Importance (P20)
Defines how important this business was for the history of technical theatre, it is used to select items for large visualisations.
Importance value list (Q8)
Context (P47)
Can be used to give more information about the item.
Text length is limited, if needed add a second value.

Language is mandatory (fill the language of the text.)

If the information is retrieved from an existing source, add a qualifier source (P63) or source URL (P64).

Persons (or organisations or businesses) that founded the business.

Another business or organisation the business has founded.
Add a statement with the property founded by (P54) on the item page of the organisation/business that was founded.
worked here (inverse property label of Has worked in (P227))
A person that worked for the business.
Add a statement with the property has workend in (P227) on the item page of the person. When done, the statement [worked here] will automatically appear on the item page of the business.
Significant person (P56)
A person that was significant for the business.
Describe the significance in a context (P47) qualifier.
Member of (P46)
An organisation or business the business is member of.
Has board members (P284)
Persons in the Board or management functions within the business.
Describe the exact function of the person in a context (P47) qualifier.
