Built 1841-1842 as Fürstliches Hoftheater, probably by Bohn, for prince Günther Friedrich Carl II. von Schwarzburg-Sondershausen, as a rebuilding of the ducal horse racing hall. 1903 and 1925 renovations. 1919 renamed Schloßgartentheater. 1988-1995 major renovation. Re-opened 1 September 1995 as Theater im Schloßgarten. Ca. 500 seats. (English)
