Opened 15 Aug 1913 with Oscar Wilde's Eine Frau ohne Bedeutung (A Woman of No Importance). Later used as drama theatre by the Bremen State Theatre company. 836 seats. Demolished by bombs in 1944. - 1948-1949 rebuilt in simplified forms by Hans Storm and Walter Unruh for the city of Bremen. Reopened 27 Aug 1950 as Theater am Goetheplatz with Goethe's Egmont. Used for performances by the municipal theatre company. 1180 seats. (English)
