Tampereen Teatteri oli aloittanut toimintansa jo 1904, mutta oman rakennuksen se sai vasta 1912. Arkkitehdit olivat Kauno S. Kallio ja Oiva Kallio. Teatteri oli valmistuessaan hyvin varusteltu. Saliin mahtui alun perin hieman vajaa 600 katsojaa. (Finnish)
