Theatre, built 1864-1865 by Enrico Trevisanato. Opened 7 Oct 1865 with Giuseppe Verdi's Un ballo in maschera. Named in honour of the Italian opera composer, Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901). Destroyed by bombs in the 1940s. Subsequently not rebuilt. Last remains demolished in the 1970s. (English)
