Re-opened 13 Jul 1908 with Goethe's Iphigenie auf Tauris. 1966-1968 exterior and interior renovation to the original designs, reconstruction of the original stage machinery. 550 seats. Currently used for a summer season of drama and opera performances by companies from Halle and other touring companies, for a winter concert season, and for performances by the annual Händel-Festpiele Halle festival.
